Jul. 16, 1966 - The theme for the sixth German-American Folk Festival was Fort Alamo. The festival took place in Berlin and the fort was built true to form. Fort Alamo was the setting for a battle between Texans and Mexicans in 1836. Many of the Wild West's greatest heroes took part in the battle including Jim Bowie and Davie Crockett
