Jun. 06, 1963 - East german soldiers flee to west in armored patrol car: Three soldiers of communist east german army broke through the barbed wire frontier at the zone border near Bad Versfeld just at the time when soviet premier Chruchtschow landed in East Berling for a one weeks visit to communist ruled east germany. After the break-through, the three refugees handed themselves and their armored vehicle to the west German border police at Heringen, from where they were taken to Bad Versfeld. The armored car was driven by a west German border police man. Still in their uniforms, the refugees were taken to the west police station for inquest
