Aug. 08, 1967 - The wall is being Modernized.: On the ground of the cemetry St. Hedwig in the Berlin district wedding soldiers and pioneers of the NVA are enlarging the modern border. About 2m behind the existing wall a new one ofconcrete ledges is errected. Behind it the so - called Todesstreifen is planished which will be bordered on the East by a high fence. Photo shows pioneers of the NVA levelling the Todesstreifen, in the background a guard turret. Pioneers of the NVA errecting a high wire fence which is to keep the refugees from Todesstreifen
