Aug. 12, 1963 - This little orangutan baby, just ten days old, is the pride of Berlin Zoo. It had been 18 years since an orangutan baby was born in the zoo. It is notoriously hard to rear an orangutan baby. The baby's mother is Bella, who unfortunately fell ill after the birth. Because of that Mrs. Walter will take over for her. The little one seems pleased with his foster mom and is at home. The baby is only 900 grams
