Aug. 08, 1968 - The first public skateboard-track was opened these days in Hamburg/West-Germany: To the lot of popular requests the city fathers of Hamburg/West Germany made allowance for: In the Green Center of the suburb Bergedorf a popular skateboard-track was given these days it's decision - the first in Europe. The track is made of three asphalt covered kettle-styled hollows with a diameter of six to seven meters. The two meters deep sailing hollows made the young users of the tracks getting up a high speed and it's of course a important thing: here the skateboard-racers doesn't endanger the pedestrians with their rasant sports kits. By the way the use of the 20 x 30 meters large plant is free of charge
