May 13, 1968 - Whoever can smoke the slowest wins. In Wuerselen bei Aachen, 75 men and women from 9 clubs in Italy, 1 club in Holland, and 4 clubs in Germany gathered to compete in the European Championship of pipe smoking. Whoever could smoke the slowest would win. The winner was 65 year old Josef Reuters(pictured) who smoked for 104 minutes and 45 seconds. He belonged to the oldest pipe smoking club in the world
