Sep. 17, 1969 - Mickey Mouse helps troubled children! Mickey Mouse, of the famed books, newspapers, and films, doesn't just want to have fun and entertain; he also wants to help. In celebration of his 40 years as an entertainer there will be a balloon competition between September and October 10, 1969. 1, 000, 000 balloons would be released during this time in over 100 German cities. They would have cards on them with information about a lottery. In total there were 3, 001 prizes, with the main prize being a trip to Disneyland! The beginning of the competition took place in Stuttgart(pictured)
