Dec. 12, 1970 - Dr, Egon Emmel first Ambassador of Germany in Polen: It seems to be definite that Dr. Egon Emmel (photo) will become the first Ambassador of the Federal Republic Germany in Warszaw. Dr. Egon Emmel (56), born in Hamburg, studied political economics, graduated 1946 (Dr.rer.ppl.), became member of the Federal Ministry for agriculture and forestry in 1950 and moved over to the Foreign Ministry in 1955. In 1961 he became councillor of Embassy of the German mission at the International organisations in Geneva; in 1965 became ambassador-in the same year he was nominated legation councillor and again one year later assistant director in the ministry. As ambassador for special duty Dr. Emmel was delegate for contractual negotiations concerning trade - and development politics. He also participated in the negotiations with Warszaw and leads now the commercial mission of the Federal Republic in the Polish capital. Dr. Emmel is married and has three children
