Jun. 06, 1970 - The Distinguished Service Cross.: with Ribbon and Star of the FRG was given to the first soldier of the German Army, General Inspector, Ulrich de Maiziere, Chancellor Willy. Brandt (right) who thus honoured the highest ranking German soldier stated on that occasion, that General de Maiziers (left) had created the organizational and personal basis of the modern German troops and that his honour was one to the whole German army as well
