May 05, 1971 - West-Germany Stops Dollar-Invasion: Dr. Karl Klasen (r.), chairman of West Germany's Federal Bank, and Trade Minister Prof. Karl Schiller (l.) conferred in Frankfurt (Germany) together with the Central Bank Council about the problems of the increasing flew of US-dollars into the German capital market. Resulting to the conference the Federal Bank stopped to accept US-dollars, while the German currency exchanges were closed to assist this decision. German merchant banks have limited the acceptance of US-currency to a limit of 500 German marks
