1973 - International Garden construction - exhibition in Hamburg from 27.4. to 7.10. 1973: The biggest telephone receiver in the world is being exhibited by the German Post Office as it's special attraction at the International Garden construction-exhibition 1973 which opens in Hamburg today. This plastic monster is 18 meters long, 4, 5 meters high and weighs almost 19 tons. Inside the receiver can be found Post office information stand, which is reached by climbing the steps (picture). For this doubtless very original postal installation they had to pay about half a million DM. The exhibition will be open until October
