Sep. 09, 1973 - Berlin Wall opens for West Berlin dusts-carts: On Sept. 10, 1973 the first West Berlin dust-carts were allowed to cross the city's dividing wall and transport West Berlin garbage to an East Berlin dumping lot. This agreement was finally made between East and West Berlin authorities after lengthy negotiations. From now on the garbage will be transported on an access road which leads through a triangular piece of GPR territory at the city's border of Neukolln. Since West Berlin's dumping lots are full, the garbage has to be sold to the GPR for DM 4. -per one cubicmetre of trash. Photo shows the newly installed border crossing for dust-carts in East Berlin
