Jan. 01, 1974 - Cleaning-up the famous Cooper Figurines of Munich Town Hall: Restoring the gloss.. is achieved here by Mr. Eduard Bandhauer, 40 who gives the annual thorough cleaning to the wooden figurines which dance daily at 11am to the melodious tunes of a chime high above the city's Market Place. The figurines are the symbols of the medevial guild of the coopers. Originally they have been installed in 1906 and throughout the years the dancing figures, painted in bright colours, have delighted the tourists and citizens as well. Damaged during the war the figurines have been repaired historically and get a thorough technical inspection each year also, So that the dancers can continue to perform their art.
