May 05, 1972 - Again the West Berliner are Allowed to Visit Relatives in East Germany. During one week, from May 17 till May 24 1972, West Berliners have the possibility of visiting relatives and friends who live in the DDR. On the first day it was rather quiet at the West Berlin crossing points. Some of the visitors had been waiting about an hour until the crossing points were opened. Packed with big shopping bags they were cleared quickly and in polite way. The Senate of West Berlin expects about 70, 000 people to across the frontier this week which would be more than during Easter holidays
