Mar. 27, 1976 - 75the Birthday Of Erich Ollenhauer: Erich Ollenhauer (picture), the West-German Social Democrat politician, would have become 75 years old on March 27th, 1976. Born in Magdeburg, he joined the socialist labor movement when he was eighteen. From 1928 to 1930 he was the chairman of the Socialist Labor Youth Movement and became a member of the executive committee of the Social Democratic Party in 1933. In the same year he ha to emigrate to France, England and Czechoslovakia. After his return to Germany in 1946, Erich Ollenhauer was elected the Vice-Chairman of the re-established SPD and became 1952 the sucdied of Chairman Dr. Kurt Schuhmacher, who had died in August of that year. In 1958 and 1962 was re-elected as the chairman. Erich Ollenhauer died on December 14th 1963 in Bonn
