1977 - Personal Referee of Brandt Apprehended As DDR Agent: Gunter Guillaume (47) who since 1970 was busy in the Federal Chancellorship and since autumn 1972 personal referee of the Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt has been apprehended as DDR agent on April 24, 1974. Guillaume who was competent for the association between the chancellorship and the SPD central office declared after his apprehension to be officer of the National Army and collaborator of the ministry for state security of the DDR. In 1956 he came in Federal Republic of Ceremony and was recognized as fugitive. Already in early summer 1973 they knew he was an agent but waited until they found out the espionage ring he belonged to. Together with him, his wife Christal was approached under suspicious of espionage.
