Aug. 08, 1977 - The Budapest Planetarium was handed over to the public: In the People's Park of Budapest the new Planetarium was officially inaugurated here today to mark the Constitution Day (August 20). With the help of the Special equipment made in the GDR the movements of the celestial bodies as seen from the Earth and Astronomical and Meteorological phenomena can be projected to the Cupola of the Planetarium which has a diameter of 23 metres. Photo shows the projector is just projecting a sunset of Budapest to the Cupola. The symbolic signs of the various constellations are also seen in the picture projected
