Sep. 09, 1975 - German football-coach Helmut Schon 60 years old.: On September 15th, 1975 Helmut Schon (Helmut Schon - our picture) can celebrate his 60 birthday. Helmut Schon, born in Dresden (now German democratic republic) and now living in Weisbaden, has been very excellent football player himself and member of the German national-team. Over a long time he was the assistant of the former German soccer-coach Sepp Herberger, but when Herberger resigned in 1964, Schon got this job. The greatest success he could get with his team during the past ten years were: Vice-World-Championship 1966 in England, the 3. place at the World Championship 1970 in Mexico, the title of an European champion and, of course, winning the title of a world-champion in the last year in Munich/Germany
