Birthday of Felix Graf Von Luckner: On June 9th 1981, the birthday of Felix Graf Von Luckner also known as Seeteufel (devil of the sea), is a year for the 100th, time. 1881 Luckner was born in Dresden as son of a common family. In the age of 13 he left his home and became shipboy on a sailing ship. In the age of 20, after different jobs and travel through America, he visited the school of navigation in Lubeck. 1910, at the request of the German Emperor Wilhelm II. he started the active duty of the navy. In the year 1917 he became known all over the world as Lieutenant Luckner. With his privateer Seeadler he kept the fleets of his enemies on the jump. In the book Seeteufel he discripes his adventures. On the occasion of a journey round the world Luckner was awarded with many honorary titles in the USA. During the years of the National Socialist government he was controlled and released from his ranks. After the end of the war he travelled to America to plead the Americans in understanding for the German situation. Luckner was also known because of his physical strength one time with his own hands he has torn the telephone directory of New York to pieces. On April 13th. 1966 Graf Luckner in the age of nearly 85 years in Malmo/ where he had spent the last years of his life
