Sep. 09, 1980 - Franz Josef Strauss became 65 years old: When Bavarian Prime Minister and CDU/CSU - candidate for chancellorship. Franz Josef Strauss, became 65 years old on September 6th, 1980, of course a great festivity took place in Munich/West Germany. About 240 VIP's took place at the banquet in the Antiquarium of Munich Residence, and the congratulation-reception to about five hours. Franz Josef Strauss was congratulated by prominent persons (amongst them also Federal President Karl Carstens), by his political friends and also opponents, representants of the Bundeswehr, but also by Munich inhabitants and delegations of different folklore-groups and sport-clubs f.e.
