Nov. 11, 1978 - German General Harald Wust Retired; On November 28, 1978 Harald Wust (picture), the rank first General in the German Bundeswehr, has resigned. Because of differences between him and the German Minister of Defense, Hans Apel, the Chief of Staff asked for his premature retirement. By this General Wust drew his conclusions from the strong critics during the last months he hadn't taken by time measures against prejudice arisen in connection with the spying-affair Lutze. In his resignation letter the General didn't mention this affair, but declared some other reasons for his retirement
