Feb. 02, 1957 - Field Marshal Paulus Dies: Field Marshal Friedrich Paulus, the man who lost the battle of Stalingrad, has died in East Germany, according to news reaching his relatives at Baden-Baden, West Germany, Paulus, who was taken by the Russians after surrendering Hitler's armies at Stalingrad in January 1943, has been living in Dresden since returning from Soviet captivity in 1953.
