Gila Golan, actress, former Miss Israel, in London

Mar. 03, 1966 - Actress who has never known her real name arrives in London: Gila Golan, who plays the starring role with James Coburn in the film Our Man Flint has arrived in London. This dark-haired beauty who was crowned Miss Israel of 1961, has never known her real name, who she is, who her parents were, where she was born or when. It seems that her first memory is a wartime kaleidoscope of an air raid, a bomb shelter, and burning street in (she has been told) Krakow, Poland. She was taken to a house by a Catholic family and eventually handed over to a Jewish organisation who placed her in a Jewish boarding school in France. She was finally shipped with other refugees to Israel. This is the story of a nameless refugee now called Gila Golan. Photo shows A close-up of Gila Golan at the Savoy Hotel this evening
