Giuseppe Lanza del Vasto, Italian writer
Jan. 06, 1981 - Italian writer Giuseppe Lanza del Vasto, who wrote several books on spirituality, died from a cerebral hemorrage in a hospital in Murcia. He was 79 years old. Gandhi gave him the name Shantidas which means servant of peace. He founded the Basic Community of the Arch, whose members follow the principles taught by Gandhi, which are based on a simple and non-violent life
