Sep. 09, 1961 - The Queen to open the New Surgical wing at the Animal Health Trust Equine Research Station:H.M. The Queen is to open the new Gladys Yule Surgical wing, the station becomes one of the most advanced of its kind in the world. Special equipment and a unique layout have solved the principal problem of surgery on horses. It will how be possible to carry out complex equine surgery under conditions hardly bettered in human hospitals. The new wing is named after the late Miss Gladys Yule, who in 1956 generously made over Balaton Lodge to the Animal Health Trust, as an outright gift.
