GLC Chief Desmond Plummer sails in dinghy, River Thames

Mar. 03, 1968 - GLC Chief sails in Dinghy.: Ideal sailing conditions met Mr. Desmond Plummer, leader of the Greater London Council, crewing a GP 14 dinghy from Putney to Westminster yesterday. Astern of him was Mr. Christopher Chataway, leader of the Inner London Education Committee. The outing was organised by the South Bank Sailing Club so that Mr. Plummer, a novice at sailing, will have first-hand knowledge when the River Thames conference opens on Monday. The conference brings together local authorities controlling 40 miles of the Thames to work out methods of improving its amenities
