May 20, 1953 - GOG AND MAGOG, BACK AT THE GUILDHALL. Gog and Magog, the new giant effigies which are to replace those destroyed 12 years ago when the Guildhall was burned, arrived back at the Guildhall today. The work of sculptor David Evans, the effigies are 9ft. 3 ins high and each weighs 15 cwts. KEYSTONE PHOTO SHOWS:- Gog and Magog, being taken into the Guildhall when they arrived there today
