Goldie the Eagle captured and returned to London Zoo
Goldie the Eagle is Captured: Goldie, The London Zoo's flyway eagle is back in his cage, after being captured yesterday. As Goldie was perched high up anlm tree in Regent's Park yesterday, zoo keeper, Mr. Derek Woods was trying, unsuccessfully to lure the bird down with a dead white rat. Then along came Marianne Seagrave, 10, swinging her toy rabbit, Harvey. Goldie swooped down and lunged at the toy rabbit, circled three times - the Mr. Woods threw the dead rat at him. Goldie pounced on the rat and Mr. Woods was able to move in, tuck Goldie under his arm.
