Goldie the Eagle captured and returned to London Zoo

Dec. 20, 1965 - Goldie the eagle is captured : Goldie, the London zoo's flyaway eagle is back in his cage, after captured yesterday. As goldie was perched high up an elm tree in regent's park yesterday, zoo keeper, m. Derek words was trying, unsuccessfully to lure the bird down with a dead white rat. Then along came Marianne seagrave, 10, swinging her toy rabbit, Harvey. Goldie swooped down and lunged at the toy rabbit. circled three times - then Mr. Woods threw the white rat at him. Goldie pounced on the rat and Mr. woods was able to move in and tuck Goldie under his arm.
