Nov. 11, 1975 - Mr.Gough Whitlam is sacked in Australia crisis : Australia's governor-general, Sir John Kerr, has withdrawn the commission of Mr. Gough Whitlam, the Labour prime minister, and appointed Mr. Malcolm Fraser, the Liberal opposition leader, to form a caretaker government, it was announced in Canberra today. The shock announcement came as a climax to a four-week-old constitutional crisis in which the opposition used its majority in the upper house to block the Labour government's money supply in an attempt to force a general election.
