: No Grand Slam for Sharif

No Grand Slam for Sharif

Jan. 1970 - London, England, United Kingdom - OMAR SHARIF (left) playing against his opponent JEREMY FLINT (right), a professional bridge player during the Bridge Circus v. Flint televised bridge tournament filmed at the Piccadilly Hotel. Sharif, yesterday lost 1500 when he mistakenly called Small Slam instead of Grand Slam, during his bridge match which his team are playing against Flint and Cansino. Sharif and his partner, C. Delmouly, only made 710 instead of 1210. This at 1 a point coat them 500. The underbidding robbed them of another 100 - a side bet on the first four rubbers
