Feb. 26 November 1980 - Greece re-enters NATO. The Greek Parliament gave the government the vote of confidence it had requested at the close of a three day debate on the government's decision to re-enter NATO's military command structure after an absence of six years. The vote climaxed a week of demonstrations by Greeks opposed to NATO membership.
