Nov. 28, 1957 - Plot To Grab A British Colony. Two men have been named as ring leaders in a plot to steal a British Colony. They are Dr. Garcia Granados, the Guatemalan Minister in London, and Mr. George Price, leader of the People's United Party in British Honduras. This was the plot, as revealed to MP's by the Colonial Secretary, Mr. Lennox Boyd. Over lunch in a London restaurant, Dr. Granados suggested to Mr. Price that British Honduras should break up it's 150-year link with Britain and join up with Guatemala. In return Guatemala would put up the cash British Honduras needs for development. it was to raise money to help his timber and grapefruit colony that Mr. Price cane to London with three other delegates. Mr. Lennox Boyd exposed the plot when he announced he was breaking off negotiations with Mr. Price. he felt it was impossible to continue the talks and suggested the delegation should go home. Before flying home yesterday, Mr. Price said: Neither I nor my colleagues have done anything wrong'. Photo Shows:- Mr. George Price, leader of the People's United Party in British Honduras
