Gurkhas arrive in UK for Coronation

1953 - The Gurkhas Arrive For The Coronation. Carrying His Kitbag: A contingent of about 150 Gurkhas, including a pipe band of 60, arrived at Pirbright Camp, Surrey this afternoon in readiness for the Coronation. They travelled by train from Southampton to Brookwood. Photo shows: Lt Cpl Chandrabir who is in the Regimental Military Police of the Gurkhas, watched by youngsters as he carries his kitbag at Brookwood Station this afternoon
