1953 - The Gurkhas Arrive For The Coronation. Carrying His Kitbag: A contingent of about 150 Gurkhas, including a pipe band of 60, arrived at Pirbright Camp, Surrey this afternoon in readiness for the Coronation. They travelled by train from Southampton to Brookwood.
