Gustav Franz Wagner, deputy commander of WW2 camps

Former concentration camps Deputy Commander Wagner arrested - Some weeks ago in Brazil, South America Gustav Franz Wagner was arrested. He is the former SS-lance corporal and deputy-commander of the concentration camps Sobibor and Treblinka. Since the end of the Second World War Wagner lived - unidentified - in a country house near Sao Paulo. When he was recognised and arrested, some days later a former inmate of Sobibor, Polish writer Stanislaw Szmajzner, acknowledged that Wagner is the former deputy commander of Sobibor (that was denied by him). Wagner was born in Vienna, Austria in 1911 and stated on the international search-list for war criminals since 1945 how the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria, Poland and also Israel have applied for the extradition of Wagner
