Nov. 11, 1932 - Children Turned Away From 1d (penny) Opera Because They Had No Tickets: Many children between the ages of 8 and 11, who went to the Tavistock Theatre to see the opera Hansel and Gretel for one penny were turned away because they had no tickets. The show was sponsored by the Coram's Fields and Harmsworth Memorial Foundation.
