Oct. 10, 1957 - 14-year old girl wins the Newmarket Town Plate. The Newmarket Town Plate, the only race in which women can become jockeys, was hold today. and was won by 14-year old Miss Scarlett Rimell, daughter of trainer Fred Rimell.
