They race round the piazza three times at a made pace hitting, side swiping, swerving and bumping each other. the entries for this race represent each other. The entries for this race represent each of the ten districts of the medieval town of Siena. Before the historic race starts there is a parade of captains of the various districts which make up Siena, each group wearing their colours and crests. The costumes are exact copies of those worn at the Siena celebrations in 1482.
