Sir Gordon Richards stable lads give evidence: Five men were accused at Newbury court yesterday - of conspiring with Berite Rogers a stable lad who shot himself - and others to give drugs to horses so as to effort their performances.. A number of stable lads employed by Sir Gordon Richards the trainer - went into the witness box to describe how they were handed powders came from Bert Woodage - a jockey employed by Sir Gorden.
