Dec. 14, 1971 - Women Jockeys to be allowed to race on British race courses: Women jockeys are to be allowed to compete on British racecourses next year. This was announced yesterday by the Jockey Club. which approved a series of amateur, all women races on the flat. Mrs. Judy Goodhew, of Longfield, Kent, who started the women riders campaign when she applied unsuccessfully for a jockey's license in October said: It's marvellous'.
