Jan. 10 Photo finish at Japan Derby Cornel Lancer won the 41st Japanese Derby in a photo-finish beating Inter Good to win 40 million yen, and the Emperor's plaque at Fuchu racetrack near Tokyo. Over 100, 000 spectators watched the thrilling finish. Photo: Cornel Lancer ridden by black-helmeted jockey Hiroyuki Nakajima wins by a nose from Inter Good (14), the favourite Kitanokachidoki (19) is in third place as they pass the post where the photo camera and equipment is installed. Three York (3) came in fourth place.(31-5-74)
