Jan. 01, 1981 - Number Plates for Horses : From January 1st, 1981, all riding horses will have to carry a number plate like this horse, belonging to a riding school in Duesseldorf/West-Germany (pict.). This was resolved by the Landtag by an amendment of the law. The official sign will have to the bought. It shall help to find out those riders, riding on ways not permitted. To explain this: In the woods near the towns there are only some pathes especially signed, where riding is allowed, in order to avoid that people wanting recreation are disturbed. The riders have protested sharply against the new law but in spite of this it will come into effect from the beginning of the next year. The plate fee shall be used only for building new riding pathes
