Harold Macmillan lays wreath at Lincoln statue, London

Feb. 02, 1959 - The Prime Minister lays a wreath on the Statue of Abraham Lincoln in Parliament square: This morning, Mr. Macmillan, the Prime Minister, laid a wreath on the statue of Abraham Lincoln, to mark the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. The bronze statue stands in Parliament Square and is a replica of one of Chicago. It was offered to the British nation during the first World War by the British American Peace Centennial Committee and was erected in 1921.
