Harold Wilson and Captain Kirkby on HMS Tiger

Dec. 12, 1966 - The big gun. On board H.M.S. tiger: British Prime Minister Harold Wilson and captain G. Kirkby, commander of the cruiser H.M.S. tiger, pose beneath the mighty guns of the ship during a break in the summit talks between Mr. Wilson and Rhodesian Prime Minister Ian Smith, somewhere off Gibraltar yesterday. Both premiers flew home early today after two days of seaborne talks in a bid to find a solution to Rhodesia's independence problem. On arrival at London airport Mr.Wilson told newsmen, that Britain and Rhodesia had agreed on a working document which could form the basis for settlement of the independence deadlock
