Oct. 10, 1966 - Labour Party Conference at Brighton. Premier Tells BMC Barrackers - now let me speak: A thousand car workers yesterday kept up a non-stop barrage of shouts as the Prime Minister lunched in Brighton's Grand Hotel. Finally Mr. Wilson left the dining room, walked to the hotel entrance and told the demonstrators: I have spent the last half hour listening to your slogans. Please let me speak. Mr. Wilson agreed to meet a 12-man delegation of senior shop stewards representing 200, 000 car workers. The delegation had an hour's private talks with Mr. Wilson in the hotel's verandah lounge.
