Harold Wilson unveils Gandhi statue, Tavistock Square

May 05, 1968 - Britain's Prime Minister Unveils Statue to Mahatma Gandhi in London; Prime Minister Harold Wilson this evening unveiled a memorial statue to Mahatma Gandhi, in London's Tavistock Square, Disturbances were created by members of the pacifist organisation, the Peace pledge Union, as they tried to block the path of Mr. Wilson as he walked forward to unveil the statue.
