May 05, 1958 - Shakespeare's Henry VIII compares his make-up with the original. Harry Andrews of the Old Vic made a visit to the National Portrait Gallery to compare his Henry VIII makeup with that in the Holbein portrait of the Tudor King. The portrait depicts Henry VIII at the age of 39 as he is in the Old Vic production of Henry VIII which opens this evening. This photograph is the first of its kind to be taken in the National Portrait Gallery. JSS/Keystone
