Feb. 26 The bandsman's attention wandered when he passed these comely Bavarian girls, during the procession in national costume. German Passion Play Village Is Scene Of Colourful National Costumes Feast; Oberammergau, the little village which nestles at the foot of the Alps and which is world famous as the setting of the specular Passion Play was the scene of another colourful spectacle when the National Costumes festival was held through the streets of the picturesque Village. 3000 People came from all over Bavaria, from Thettal, Mittenwald, Partenkirchen, Walchensee all wearing their own district costume. The theme of the processions was Harvest at thanksgiving, Afterwards there were displays of old fashioned Bavarian folk dances like Drahrer, Lanler and Schuhplattler (the famous dance where the hands, tights and knees are slapped), accompanied by Bavarian music
