Mar. 27 Scotland Yard Faces New Wave Of Crime. Latest Pictures Of The Yard At Work: A new wave of Crime is Sweeping over the country bringing with it some of the most sensational and unprecedented cases in the annals of Criminal History. Fantastic bank and jewels raids, fraudulent business deals involving millions of pounds, controversial cases like Marwood and Padola and of course, Alfred Hinds still at large. New Scotland Yard, Headquarters of the Mestropolitan Police since 1896 and monument of criminal detection, has never been so busy, on its shoulders rests the investigation of crimes not only in Great Britain but the world as well, through Interpol which deals with the major International rackets. These are the latest photographs of the Yard at work, and show aspects of the information room opened at the beginning of 1957.
