Jan. 01, 1955 - Cyrys State Of Emergency - Terrorists Throw Bomb During Caledonia Ball in Nicosia: A few hours after Field Marshall Sir John Harding - Governor and Commander-in-Chief in Cyrus had declared a state of emergency in the terror ridden island of- a bomb was thrown into at ballroom at the Ledra Palace Hotel, Nicoeia - during the Caledonia Ball. A number of people were injured. The bomb was aimed at the top table usually occupied by Sir John Harding - but he was not present at the tire. Photo shows Dancers leave the ballroom after the bomb had smashed one of the radiators - causing a flood - at the Ledra Palace Hotel - last night
